Hum Saath Saath Hain -1999

          

Hum Saath Saath Hain is a Hindi language family drama that features Salman Khan, Karishma Kapoor, Saif Ali  Khan, Tabu, and Sonali Bendre. This movie celebrates the togetherness of a joint family, who grow apart after a misunderstanding.

This film was the first Bollywood film to be played in Canadian theatres, with six screenings in Toronto. This film grossed worldwide ₹817.12 million (US$18.98 million).

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun -1994

                 

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was released on 5 August 1994. Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene were in lead roles. The story of the film revolves around the Indian wedding traditions and life of a married couple and the relationship between their families.

This film came to be the highest-grossing film of the year and grossed between ₹2 billion ($63.8 million) to ₹2.5 billion ($82 million) worldwide.

Maine pyar Kiya-1989

               

Maine Pyar Kiya was a Hindi romantic film featuring Salman Khan alongside Bhagyashree. The plot of the film was based on the friendship of two childhood friends. When they eventually fall in love and get married after surpassing all odds.

This film became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1989 and the highest-grossing Indian film of the 1980s. Six Filmfare Awards were won by this film.

Chitchor-1976

              

Chitchor starring Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab was based on the Bengali story Chittachakor by Subodh Ghosh.

The film was also remade in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil as Ammayi Manasu, Minda Poochakku Kalyanam, and Ullam Kavarntha Kalvan respectively. This film proved as an inspiration for the 1997 Bengali film Sedin Chaitramas and the 2003 film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

Uphaar -1971

              

Jaya Bhaduri, Kamini Kaushal starring Uphaar was released on 10 December 1971. This movie was based on the short story ‘Samapti’ by Rabindranath Tagore.

This movie was remade in various South Indian languages but became successful only in Malayalam as Upaharam in 1972.

Dosti -1964

              

Dosti was a black-and-white film released in 1964. The plot of the film revolves around the life of two friends in which one is blind and the other one is cripple. It was also made into the list of the top 10 highest grosser of the year.​​​​​
