Tere Ishq Mein hits the screens in 2025 as a Hindi romantic action drama from director Aanand L. Rai and writer Himanshu Sharma. In the lead roles, we see Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, who also team up again, which proves to be a successful association from the past, like in their previous film Raanjhanaa (2013). Also note that the music for this film has been put together by the very talented A. R. Rahman. The film is produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films and had its release in Hindi and Tamil in the Indian theatres on 28th of November 2025.

Plot
In the setting of Banaras, we are introduced to Shankar, played by Dhanush, who is a young man of intense emotions and anger, which in great measure runs his life. He develops a deep attachment to Mukti, played by Kriti Sanon, who is his college mate.
As the time that Shankar and Mukti spend together grows, so does their friendship, which in turn develops into a passionate relationship. But their romance takes a turn for the worse when Mukti chooses to break up with him, and she decides to marry another man. Her choice leaves Shankar dealing with heartbreak, anger and many unresolved feelings.
The issue at large is that which transpires as a result of intense love and uncontrolled rage, and the story also looks at how the choices made by characters Shankar and Mukti play out in their lives. At its core, the film presents a complex relationship that is a study in love, separation, emotional pain and personal transformation.

Production Development and Casting
Tere Ishq Mein is the third time director Aanand L. Rai has worked with Dhanush. Rai saw in the actor a special quality that made him choose Dhanush for these emotionally intense roles.
The project was put forth in June 2023, which also marked the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa. But Dhanush’s other professional engagements delayed the main shoot. In June 2023, we saw a promotional video, but the start of principal photography didn’t begin until October 2024.
Kriti Sanon was announced as the female star for the 2025 release. For the screenplay, story and dialogues, we see Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav as the creative forces. Also, this film has elements similar to Raanjhanaa in terms of in-depth and confusing love themes.
Filming
The film was shot at a few locations, which included Banaras, Delhi, Leh and Mumbai. In February 2025, Kriti Sanon came on board. Also, some of the shoots, which had been at Shri Ram College of Commerce, drew online attention after pictures and videos from the location went viral.
In April 2025, the final stage of production took place in Mumbai. We wrapped up filming in July 2025, at which point the movie went into post-production.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack, which is by A. R. Rahman, also includes lyrics by Irshad Kamil, and for “Chinnaware”, we have Dhanush. Also in this album, we see the talent of many famous singers like Arijit Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Faheem Abdullah, Shilpa Rao, Darshan Raval, Sukhwinder Singh and Shankar Mahadevan.
The album features nine tracks, which are “Tere Ishk Mein”, “Usey Kehna”, “Aawaara Angaara”, “Deewaana Deewaana”, “Tere Zikr Mein”, “Jigar Thanda”, “Ladki Jaisi”, and “Chinnaware”. Also included is a female version of “Jigar Thanda”. Total run time of the full soundtrack is 39 minutes and 53 seconds.
Release and Marketing
In 2025, we released the first teaser of the film on January 27; also in that year, we had a longer teaser which came out on October 1.
In 2025, on November 14, the first look trailer dropped, which did very well in terms of its emotional element, dramatic play and visual style. Also, that year, the film’s promotion was handled by Colour Yellow Productions in association with T-Series.
Given the success of Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush’s past work together, which was compared to Raanjhanaa, we see the same elements of very intense love, emotional conflict and personal sacrifice in this film. Also, the movie hit theatres on November 28, 2025, in Hindi and Tamil.
