Govinda Ahuja, born on 21 December 1963, is an Indian film artist known for his exceptional performances in Bollywood movies. He is the son of the renowned actor Arun Kumar Ahuja and actress Nirmala Devi. Govinda has achieved numerous awards and accolades, including a Filmfare Award for Best Comedian and four Zee Cine Awards. From 2004 to 2009, he served as a member of the Parliament of India.
In 1992, Govinda was recognized as a top comedian after his role as a mischievous young NCC cadet in the romantic movie "Shola Aur Shabnam." He played leading roles in several commercially successful comedy films, including "Aankhen" (1993), "Raja Babu" (1994), "Deewana Mastana" (1997), "Coolie No. 1" (1995), "Hero No. 1" (1997), "Dulhe Raja" (1998), "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" (1998), and "Jodi No. 1" (2001).
For his performance in the film "Haseena Maan Jayegi," Govinda received a Filmfare Best Comedian Award. He later received the Filmfare Special Award for his outstanding performance in "Saajan Chale Sasural." In 2000, Govinda portrayed six different roles in the show "Hadh Kar Di Aapne".
In addition to his film career, Govinda is affiliated with the Indian National Congress and was elected as the 7th member of parliament for the Mumbai North constituency of Maharashtra, India, in the 14th Lok Sabha elections, defeating Ram Naik of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
