Recently, a blind item from The Opinionated Indian said that an A-list star apparently walked out of a big-budget project because he was not given a properly bound script. But now, according to newer chatter from industry people, the story looks a lot more layered, as it appears the actor had already received the full script, took part in a script reading session, and then left the film just days before shooting was scheduled to start. As a result, the makers are said to be stuck with substantial financial losses that they weren’t expecting in the first place.

As per these sources, the star who has just given an industry hit was given a bound script & he even had a script reading session three days before the shoot. He had been dilly-dallying when it came to starting the movie & asked the makers to wait for three years. The makers were patient with him & did not let his diminishing box office standing affect the project. By the time the movie’s shoot was about to start, they had spent 45cr! The hero quit just a few days prior to the shoot & offered to pay back just 10cr. This irked the makers, who went to the film body. They chose not to take the legal route, as these matters require a sound understanding of filmmaking. The makers were supportive of the star & feel betrayed with him deciding to walk off at the last minute.
Industry insiders claim the fallout was not only due to creative differences, but also because of when the actor decided to exit. After years of waiting and a fairly big financial commitment from the production house, the last-minute withdrawal reportedly left the makers scrambling a bit to salvage a project that had already swallowed substantial resources. While both sides are said to have stayed cordial in public, those close to the production feel the trust between the actor and the studio took a major dent.
Interestingly, sources also suggest that a senior superstar stepped in behind the scenes to mediate nd keep the situation from going any further. Although a few names have been hinted at in media reports, the exact identity of the mediator is still not clear. Still, what seems obvious is that this episode has turned into one of the most discussed industry controversies in recent months, with different takes on what really happened continuing to circulate in trade circles.
