Siddharth Anand born 31 July 1978 he is an Indian film director, screen play writer and producer that is mainly in Hindi cinema. What is known of him is his work on grand scale action films like War (2019), which he also directed, Pathaan (2023) and which is to come out in 2024, and Fighter (2024). What is very much a hallmark of his films is the style in which they are shot, high in production values, and which have mass appeal which in turn has made him the most commercial success of the present age in the action direction segment of Bollywood.

Early Life and Background
Siddharth Anand was born on 31 May 1978 out of Mumbai, Maharashtra to a very famous film family. From a young age he was exposed to the industry his grandfather Inder Raj Anand a vetarnal screenwriter that wrote over 100 Hindi films and his father Bittu which produced Shahenshah (1988). Also within the family were actor and director Tinnu Anand and also the film maker Mukul Anand.[1].
He grew up in Mumbai and attended school there; later on he enrolled at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. In a home which was in the film industry, Anand was from a young age exposed to the world of filmmaking although he first worked in the background instead of as a director. Also it is noted that.
Career
Assistant Director and Screenwriting (2001–2004)
Anand started out as assistant director in Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi (2001). Also he was an assistant on Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002). His big break came when he got to co-write the screenplay for Hum Tum (2004) which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Also he was associate director for the said project.[3].
Directorial Debut and Romantic Films (2005–2010)
Siddharth Anand’s directorial debut was with Salaam Namaste (2005) which was a romantic comedy that went on to be a great commercial success especially overseas. He followed this with Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Anjaana Anjaani (2010). These films put him on the map as a director of urban romance and youth oriented stories.
Transition to Action Cinema (2014–2019)
After a while Anand got into different genre with Bang Bang! (2014) which saw him step into large scale action films. His major break through came with War (2019) which he produced with Yash Raj Films and which became the box office hit of that year also thus positioning Anand as the preeminent action film director.
Blockbusters and Expansion (2020–present)
In 2020 Anand co founded Marflix Pictures with wife Mamta Anand. This company saw the light of the day with the launch of his film Pathaan (2023) which went on to gross over Rs 1000 cr world wide and which also is one of the highest grossing Indian films of all time. Also to follow was Fighter (2024) an aerial action drama which is based on the Indian Air Force.
Anand is at present working on King which is set for 2026 and stars Shah Rukh Khan which also includes Anand’s association with large scale action films.
