During his original attempt at competing for the Indian Postal Service, Alfred earned a spot in the postal service, thus impressing himself. However, his attention continued to be fixed on reaching his ultimate goal of entering into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) so he re-tested himself based on what he had learnt from his previous IAS exam tryout, resulting in a much improved performance when he sat for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2021 and reported an overall rank of 57 among all candidates from throughout India. This, in turn, secured his place in the IAS.
Administrative Career and Achievements
After Alfred OV joined the IAS, he began to serve in Kerala, which is where he got recognized early on. He had an early posting as Sub Collector in Palakkad.
