The film “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” has achieved great success as it collected 3-3.25 crore nett on its second Friday, showing a remarkable hold with collections similar to the previous two days. This film is the first hit since “Pathaan,” which was released five months ago in January. While Hollywood produced two successful films during this period, namely “John Wick 4” and “Fast X,” it has been a long time coming for the Hindi cinema.
With collections of 38 crore nett to date, it appears that the film will comfortably surpass the 60 crore nett mark, possibly even heading towards 70 crore nett. However, its performance in the third week will be determined by the release of “Adipurush,” which is expected to impact its business.

“Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” falls into the middle-of-the-road cinema category, and its success is good news for the industry. However, it would have been even better if there were no ticket offers associated with the film, as it would still have performed well without such incentives to attract audiences to cinemas.
The film also reflects a shift in the demographics of the box office. It is unlikely that films like “Vicky Donor,” “Kapoor & Sons,” “Hindi Medium,” or “Neerja” would perform as strongly today as they did before, primarily due to the increasing contribution of collections from the five metro cities. However, if the A centers such as Indore, Lucknow, Bhopal, Jaipur, etc., drive the audience, there is potential for mid-range cinema. Moreover, there is always an overlapping middle-class audience in the metros. Music plays a crucial role as it becomes difficult to attract audiences for smaller commercial films in these areas without a hit song or two.
