An interesting blind item was shared recently on The Opinionated Indian. It involved an A+ star whose string of successful films seems to be never ending. Sequels and multiple related stories appear to be his go to approach for sustained success, with many expecting his films to be the foundations for long franchises.
Blind Item
This A+ list superstar’s strategic bet on sequels to his hit films has paid rich dividends. His last release has turned out to be a blockbuster success. As per a source, the A+ superstar has asked the team of writers who worked on his recent blockbuster to work on the script for the sequel of another hit movie starring him – a horror flick which was the remake of a hit regional film. Meanwhile, he has asked the team to come up with ideas for a universe similar to his last release. He is no mood to end that franchise.
He found his signature formula and it is clearly paying off. It combines revisiting old characters and creating brand new worlds for them to exist in. The fascinating part is that it looks like he is going beyond the standard ‘make a sequel’ and creating an entire ecosystem that is his for the taking, with future characters in potential sequels living their best lives in new worlds of his design. It will probably take a while for the audience to stop praising his innovative approach and start complaining about it, but there is no reason for him to change a method that has already been well received by audiences.
Industry people are becoming more observant of the ways in which he skillfully manages to blend entertaining films and projects with memorable content. While most actors hurry to shoot the next installment of their biggest successes, he and his team are in no such rush. Instead, they believe in taking their time and coming up with something new. If things work out the way they hope, the next couple of years might see many crossover storylines, familiar characters, and even some surprising cameos. When it comes to being a bankable attraction in cinemas, this strategy will make his biggest successes more rewarding in the long run.
