Recently, a blind item from The Opinionated Indian kind of hinted, at growing tensions behind the scenes, of an upcoming sequel to a cult romantic comedy. While the movie is selling glam, real star power, and a dose of nostalgia, some industry insiders are saying that a hard edged PR skirmish between the two leading actresses is quietly taking over the narrative, before the release even gets rolling.
Blind Item
The sequel to a cult romcom is up for release. The sequel features two A-list actresses & an A-list hero. As per a source, things are not as hunky dory as they seem. Both the heroines are waging a PR war against each other. The PR team of both the actresses is portraying each of them as the hotness quotient. If the movie works their PR teams will give credit to the respective stars for the success. Meanwhile, the A-list hero is less excited than what he used to be. His close friends have told him that he won’t be getting much credit for the film’s success & that the heroines will walk away with all the credit. On the other hand, if the movie tanks then the hero will be blamed.
Industry insiders say that the whole rivalry between the two leading actresses has kind of heated up, like really, now that the film release is getting closer. Supposedly both sides are working overtime, not just casually , to make their own star seem like the film’s biggest pull, and they’re doing it with very carefully curated social media campaigns, plus fashion appearances, and these promotional storylines meant for grabbing, and holding, public attention right up until the movie hits theatres.
What makes it kinda more interesting , though, is how the male lead fits into all this chaos. Trade observers think that if the sequel turns into a box-office win, then the cameras could swing mostly toward the actresses, but if it doesn’t perform well, the hero might end up taking the major share of the backlash. So with expectations already high, the behind the scenes competition seems almost as intense as the film itself.
