She was born on June 1, 1955, in Chandausi, Uttar Pradesh, in a humble background and despite the great social and economic obstacles she faced, she rose to prominence as a political figure.
Her early life had difficulty since she belonged to a Scheduled Caste family. Nevertheless, her firm belief in education made her successful. She went on to earn advanced degrees in Political Science at Rohilkhand University, which would influence her views on the world of governance and serving the people.

Before joining politics, Gulab Devi devoted her time to education. She had started her work as a lecturer in Political Science and later became the principal of a girls’ inter-college in Chandausi.

Being a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, she was gradually gaining momentum. She had been elected to the Legislative Assembly (MLA) several times and was trusted by her constituents due to her performance and commitment throughout the years.

Gulab Devi’s political journey is marked by perseverance and leadership. She has served with a number of great leaders such as Yogi Adityanath and has been involved in the governance and policy-making in Uttar Pradesh.
In 2022, she made another breakthrough as she became the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Secondary Education in the Uttar Pradesh government.
Her administration has especially been bent on enhancing education quality, bringing in the new system of learning, and empowering infrastructure within the government schools.
