Suriya talked about a Rolex spinoff report and why he agreed to portray the role Vikram in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.
Suriya had played a cameo in Kamal Haasan’s picture Vikram. His role Rolex was greatly praised by viewers and was one of the movie’s highlights. There wer possible reports that he was working on a film centering only on his role as criminal lord Rolex in Vikram. Suriya, on the other hand, refuted these rumours and disclosed why she accepted the role.
The South superstar disclosed that he almost turned down the offer to appear a cameo in Vikram, but he eventually accepted because of him. He wasn’t initially keen on playing Rolex, but he couldn’t let go the opportunity presented by Kamal Haasan. He credits his success to the megastar.
Suriya won the best actor for his performance in Soorarai Pottru at the Filmfare Awards 2022 South. When he approached the stage to collect the award, the audience chanted Rolex. Following the publication of Vikram, a probable Rolex spinoff surfaced on the internet. Hence , the event’s host, actor Ramesh Arvind, questioned Suriya about Rolex’s return. ‘I think time will respond,’ he answered. If the chance comes, I will take it.”
Suriya further discussed how he got the highly loved post and what made him to take it on. He said, “Whatever I am at this moment, whatever I am currently doing in life, Kamal sir will always been my inspiration. When he called and said there was a chance, I couldn’t let it go me by. This is all I want to share with everyone. When you’re afraid, that’s when you want to jump. It was a last minute choice. I was going to phone Lokesh and tell him I couldn’t do it. But I only did it only for person.”
Lokesh Kanagaraj directed and wrote the action thriller Vikram, which was produced by Raaj Kamal Films International. Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil also appear in the flick. It grossed 440 crores at the worldwide box office.
