With a constant rise in women-centric movies, Bollywood is also observing an increase in the number of women producers in the film industry. Along with leaving a mark by their acting skills, many Bollywood actresses have started their own startups and production houses. From Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra to the most recent Kareena Kapoor Khan, actresses are turning into producers.

1. Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone does not need any kind of introduction. The actress made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 film, Om Shanti Om and her performance as Shantipriya in the same was praised by a lot. She performed in some of the most iconic films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Cocktail, Chhapaak, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Piku, and many others in her career. Apart from entertaining fans with her acting skills, Deepika also started her own company Ka Productions in 2018, under which she produced and performed in Film Chhapaak (2020) and 83 (2021)
In 2019, during the trailer promotion of Chhapaak, Deepika exposed the meaning of KA and said, that Ka means soul. It is the part of our body, part of our being that leaves behind when we die. She hope that she will be able to leave behind a body of work that all of us would enjoy when she will not around here anymore. She would make mistakes in the process and she don’t want to sound like an experienced producer because she is not but she is here to learn and add value wherever she founds.
2. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt is now at the top of her game in her personal along with her professional life. The actress has been a part of some wonderful movies over years after years and went on to establish herself with starring roles in many films like Highway, 2 States, Dear Zindagi, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Udta Punjab, Gully Boy, and many more.Few days ago Alia launched her own production company, called Eternal Sunshine Productions.
She shared the news on her social media, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress wrote that And she is so happy to announce…. PRODUCTION!! Eternal Sunshine Productions. Let us tell you tales some Happy tales. Warm and fuzzy tales. Aliya was also seen in the Netflix black comedy film Darlings, which marked her first production chance in partnership with Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
3. Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra is among the most successful actresses. She is one of the top actresses who has managed to made her name for her herself as an international artist. PeeCee is currently one of the most recognisable Indian faces who is working in Hollywood. Chopra founded her own production house titled ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’ in 2015 and the actress has produced numerous regional movies under the banner.
The company produced the 2019 film, The Sky Is Pink, and the 2021 Netflix film, The White Tiger, both of which the Mary Kom actress played the key role.
4. Kareena Kapoor Khan
Kareena Kapoor Khan has remained one of Bollywood’s most favourite actresses. She has taken the producer’s role and she has begun working on her maiden production with Ekta Kapoor and Hansal Mehta. The Veere Di Wedding actress, however, has not revealed its name or any other details. The actress is presently in London and has started filming for the movie as well.
The yet-untitled film was announced in August of last year. In a post shared by Ekta Kapoor, it was also disclosed that Kareena will be backing the project. Responding to this, the actress had written, “There’s no one I would rather partner with! May this film exceed our parents’ successful hit together (Farz)… with their blessings… always… Let’s do this!!”
5. Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma is one of the most popular actress in the bollywood film industry. The actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, co-founded a production company called Clean Slate Filmz with her brother Karnesh Ssharma, and their first release was Navdeep Singh’s thriller NH10 (2015), in which she also played the key role.
However, the Band Baaja Baaraat actress stepped down as producer earlier this year. Anushka’s comeback film, Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic about cricketer Jhulan Goswami, will also be produced by the production house.
6.Taapsee Pannu
Taapsee Pannu is a talented actress who is well-known for doing women centric roles. The Haseen Dillruba actress has launched her own film company called Outsiders Films, and announced the news on her official social media handle in order to announce the news to the people that the first film she will bankroll is Blurr. She will also play the title role in the thriller film.
