
Sushma Swaraj was a leading figure in Indian politics, whom the public held in high regard for her intellect, grace, and compassionate style. Born on February 14, 1952, in Ambala Cantonment, Haryana. At a very young age, it was clear that she was a very strong student and a natural leader. She finished off her bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit and Political Science at S.D. College in Ambala and went on to get a law degree from Panjab University in Chandigarh. Also, during her time in school,ool she took part in many debates and was noted to be the best speaker in the class.

Entry into Politics
Sushma Swaraj took to politics at a young age and did very well right away. At the age of 25, she became one of the youngest members of the cabinet when the Janata Party came into power in 1977. Her confidence and her skill in public speaking, which were very clear, helped her rise within the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Over the years,s she held many key posts and built a reputation for herself as a very powerful and disciplined leader.
Rise in National Politics
Her involvement in politics at the national stage was very much so. Sushma Swaraj served as a Member of Parliament which she did for many terms and held what were very important portfolios, which included Information and Broadcasting and Health and Family Welfare. In 1998, she had a brief term as Chief Minister of Delhi. Also, later on, she became the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a position was knoforhat her sharp arguments and strong presence.
As External Affairs Minister
In 2014, Sushma Swaraj became India’s External Affairs Minister in the government that was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Over her time in that role, she won great praise for a very responsive andpeople-orientedd approach. Also a heavy user of social media, she did a great job for Indians who were having issues abroad, be it with passports, medical issues, or evacuation during crises.
