Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor share a very close bond. They have worked together in Yash Raj Film ‘Gunday’. During the promotions, the duo shared their love for cinema, Govinda Films, and 90’s Bollywood songs. In a recent interview, Director Rohit Shetty revealed that he wants Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor to play the role of Govinda and Chunky Pandey in the remake of Aankhen.
Rohit Shetty is currently busy in promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Circus’ which stars Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, and Murali Sharma in pivotal roles. It will be released on 23rd December 2022. During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit explains why both the actors are the perfect pair for the remake of Govinda starrer Aankhein. He explains that Ranveer Singh can play the character of Govinda, Arjun could play Chunky Pandey and Paresh Rawal would be perfect for Kadar Khan. He further added that if Govinda could play the character of Kadar Khan, then it could be iconic.
He also clarified that “We have the copyright. Please don’t try to purchase the rights of the film. After that Ranveer Singh also went on to clarify why it’s a perfect idea. Ranveer said that he and Arjun are brothers in real life also, so this would be really great.
Work Front of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor
On the work front, Apart from Circus, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani alongside Alia Bhatt. Whereas Arjun Kapoor will be next seen in Ajay Bahl’s “The Lady Killer” alongside Bhumi Pednekar and in Mudassar Aziz’s next titled “Mere Husband Ki Biwi” alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar. It will be released in the middle of 2023.
