Top 3 Players Who Have Never Been Dismissed For A Duck Till 2025

In cricket, a "duck" is also a batsman getting dismissed for zero runs. An achievement is scoring a career where one never gets dismissed on a duck throughout their One Day International (ODI) career. As of March 2025, the following are the top three players who never got dismissed on a duck in their ODI careers:

1. Kepler Wessels

Kepler Wessels has an impressive record of having played 105 ODI matches without being dismissed for a duck even once. Wessels is one of a kind as he played for Australia and South Africa throughout his international career. He debuted for Australia in 1982, participating in 54 ODIs and amassing 1,740 runs. Following South Africa's readmission to international cricket, Wessels returned to represent his birth country in 1991, adding 54 more ODI innings and concluding his ODI career with 3,365 runs at an average of 34.26, including one century.

2. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is among the contemporary cricketers who have been faultless in as far as ducks in ODIs are concerned. Iyer has played 42 ODI innings without any duck since he made his debut in 2017, aggregating 1,801 runs at a tremendous average. His three centuries and 14 half-centuries are a testament to his consistency in the Indian middle order. Interestingly, though Iyer has a duck-free ODI record, he has been bowled out without getting a score in other forms of the game six times.

3. Yashpal Sharma

Yashpal Sharma, the key player in India's winning 1983 World Cup team, played 40 ODI matches without getting dismissed for a duck even once. Between 1978 and 1985, Sharma scored 883 runs at an average of nearly 29, including four half-centuries. Sharma's determination and solidity were pivotal in many of India's close victories during his time.
