Iru Malargal kicked off on Sun TV back on January 19, 2026, and right from the first episode, it pulled people in. It’s got everything—love, messy friendships, family expectations, and those twists that nobody sees coming. Hima Bindhu, Santhosh, and Jeevitha lead the charge, and honestly, they make the whole thing feel genuine. You start caring about these characters, even if you weren’t planning to.
As for the story, it revolves around three lives: Aadhi, Magizhini, and Madhi. Aadhi’s a doctor, and he falls for Magizhini at the hospital. Trouble is, his mom, Rajameenakshi, is super controlling, and Aadhi can’t figure out how to tell her about his feelings. Meanwhile, Magizhini and Madhi are tight, but family drama keeps shaking up their friendship.

Then Rajameenakshi blindsides everyone—she wants Aadhi to marry her niece. Suddenly, nobody knows where they stand. Relationships start cracking, and emotions go all over the place. The show really gets into how people juggle love and family, and how it’s never as simple as you’d hope.
The cast? Santhosh is Aadhi, the doctor trying to sort out his life. Hima Bindhu plays Magizhini, who’s basically the heart of the story. Jeevitha is Madhi, Magizhini’s fiercely loyal friend. Praveena gives us Rajameenakshi, the mom who refuses to let go. And there’s a whole crew backing them up—Ashok, Revathi Shankar, Sridevi Ashok, Syamantha Kiran, Varalakshmi, Guhan, Dinesh, Geethalakshmi, Bhanumathi, Ramnath Shetty, Jeyaram, Preethi, and Abhinaya—all bringing something unique to the table.
Behind the scenes, Tamizhar Nagarasan directs, and Andrew Uvan produces. Devi Bala came up with the story, Senthilkumaran handled the screenplay, and Muruguesan Muthusamy wrote the dialogues. Clement G does the background music, while Jayaprakash and Aari Rajan tackle the visuals. Deepankar Parikh edits.
You can watch Iru Malargal on Sun TV, or just stream it on Sun NXT if that’s easier.
Iru Malargal doesn’t sugarcoat anything—it shows just how messy things get when love and family collide. The acting feels real, and you actually want to know what’s next. If you like family dramas with lots of romance and tangled emotions, you’ll want to give this one a shot.
