On Nov. 7, 2022, history was made with the largest lottery jackpot ever won — a whopping Powerball prize of $2.04 billion. The winning ticket was sold at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, Calif., a sleepy enclave just north of Pasadena. The winner’s name, Edwin Castro who had the winning lottery numbers, was revealed many months later, on Feb. 14, 2023, by California Lottery officials. But following his request for privacy and keeping the matter private, they did not release further information about him.
