Renu Raj is a Kerala-born IAS officer from the 2015 batch. Dr. Renu Raj IAS came in second place in the 2015 UPSC examination. Her birthday is May 21, 1987. She was also named by India Today as one of the top ten most efficient government officers in the country. She is also regarded as one of India's most attractive IAS officers of the modern era.

Renu Raj was born and raised in the Kerala town of Kottayam. She had always been a diligent student who had excelled in her studies. In the Class X and XII Board Examinations, she was ranked in the top ten in Kerala. Renu later enrolled in Government Medical College, Kottayam, for MBBS. She then began working at a government hospital. She married while working at the hospital and considered applying for Civil Services.

Renu Raj's family, thankfully, wholeheartedly supported this decision. Her husband made certain that she had enough time. Her mother is a Malayalam Literature lecturer, so she was encouraged to take Malayalam as an elective. Renu passed the UPSC Civil Services Exam in 2015. Her overall ranking in India was 02.

Biography

Renu Raj married Dr. L. S. Bhagat first. While studying medicine at Kottayam Medical College, the couple became interested in each other. They tied the knot. Mr. Bhagat is still employed as a government physician. Dr. Renu announced her marriage to Dr. Sriram Venkitaraman, a daring IAS officer from Kerala cadre, for the second time. It should be noted that Dr. Sriram was in the news a few years ago for being involved in a car accident while driving with his girlfriend. It should be noted that Dr. Bhagat, Renu Raj's first husband, was responsible for her spectacular success in the UPSC CSE. Unfortunately, they were unable to live together for long.
