You might have heard that Bollywood actresses Kajol and Rani are distant cousins. They were not on cordial terms until they met on the couch of Koffee with Karan.
Some sources state that in the past, they were not even on talking terms. They both had some sort of cold war between each other. Some incidents proved these facts. Kajol wasn’t invited to Rani’s wedding even after their parents were first cousins.
Some believe that this rivalry was initiated after the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. The film had turned out to be a major turning point in Rani’s career while Kajol was already a huge star by then.
However, Karan Johar managed to get them on the same couch for the first time. In one of the segments of the show, Karan asked Rani what is the one thing she wanted to ask as a journalist to Kajol and Rani immediately replied, “Why Don’t You Like Me As Much as I do?’’, dropping hints about their cold war. On the other hand, when Kajol was asked which of Rani’s on-screen characters would she wanted to do and Kajol replied, “None” replying to what Rani said she also wouldn’t want to do any of Kajol’s on-screen roles but would like to be a mother like her when she has children.
Things turned back ugly again in 2012 again when the movies Son of Sardar by Ajay Devgn and Jab Tak Hai Jaan by Aditya Chopra clashed due to which Ajay accused Aditya of taking more screens for SOS.
However, now things have changed a lot. In the last few years, the two have been seen sharing bonding on many occasions, and posting pictures together.
