They even hire a private nanny to look after him while they are away because they treat him like their son. Naturally, when the nanny is left alone with the porcelain doll, things start to get strange. From securing her in the attic to robbing her of her clothes as she takes a shower. The boy is revealed to be much more in-depth later on in the movie.
