Shraddha Kapoor has now become the third-most followed Indian on Instagram, surpassing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With her follower count now edging closer to Priyanka Chopra, Shraddha's popularity has soared, largely thanks to the success of Stree 2.

As of 2:40 PM on August 21, 2024, Shraddha Kapoor had amassed 91,518,357 followers, just ahead of PM Modi's 91,391,797 followers. Priyanka Chopra currently holds the second spot with 91.8 million followers, while Virat Kohli leads the pack with a staggering 271 million Instagram fans. Following Shraddha are Alia Bhatt (85.1M), Katrina Kaif (80.4M), Deepika Padukone (79.8M), and Neha Kakkar (78.7M), with Kakkar being the most followed Indian singer on the platform.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is the most followed male Indian actor on Instagram, ranking 10th overall with 69.3 million followers. Despite being overtaken on Instagram, PM Modi remains the most-followed global leader on X (formerly Twitter), with 101.2 million followers, outpacing figures like US President Joe Biden, Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed, and Pope Francis.

Shraddha Kapoor has been in the spotlight due to her role in Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik and penned by Niren Bhatt. The film, produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, features notable cameos from Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. This fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.

Amar Kaushik has been praised for delivering one of the most successful films of the post-Covid era with Stree 2. In an interview with Connect Cine, Kaushik emphasized that he prioritizes storytelling over star power, crafting his narratives before selecting the appropriate cast. He believes that audiences are perceptive and can easily see through attempts to market a film solely on star appeal. Kaushik underscored the importance of creating films that resonate with viewers, aiming to leave them both entertained and satisfied.

The director also discussed Akshay Kumar's unexpected cameo in Stree 2, revealing that Kumar enthusiastically agreed to participate while they were working together on Sky Force. According to Kaushik, Akshay Kumar brought tremendous energy to the set, experimenting with multiple takes of the same scene.

Stree 2 is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
