Malaika Arora's father Anil Arora reportedly committed suicide on the sixth floor of his Ayesha Manor home. He was 62. His death is currently being investigated by the Mumbai Police and all possible angles are being considered.

It has been reported that Anil Arora called his daughter before his death. The night before, Malaika and her sister Amrita went to their parents’ house. According to eTimes correspondents, Anil spoke to his younger daughter Amrita the night before his death, and phone records show that he did visit her "and was very close and fond of her," the source said.

India TV reported that Anil expressed feelings of exhaustion during his last conversation with his daughters, allegedly saying, "I am exhausted", shortly before his death

Anil Arora shared a flat with his ex-wife Joyce Polykarp. It was their usual routine to borrow her newspaper every morning, but on that particular day Joyce sensed something was wrong just by looking at her shoes outside
