Ranbir Kapoor was in Goa for a film festival recently, where he sat through a session honoring the centenary of the legendary Raj Kapoor.

At that moment with Rahul Rawail, Ranbir stated that they are starting the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, which will pay tribute to the most remarkable works of the legendary actor and filmmaker. Speaking about the initiative, Ranbir remarked, “There are so many people who haven’t experienced his films. For instance, when I first met Alia, she asked me, ‘Who is Kishore Kumar?’ It’s just the nature of life; artists are often forgotten as new ones emerge. It’s crucial to honor and remember our roots.”

Ranbir also shared a personal wish regarding his grandfather’s directorial legacy. He expressed, “Given his brilliance with love stories, as seen in Bobby, I would have loved to see him direct Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.”
