AR Rahman and Saira Banu's Divorce Unrelated to Mohini Dey's Separation, Confirms Lawyer
Amid the recent announcement of AR Rahman and Saira Banu's divorce, bassist Mohini Dey also revealed her separation from her husband, Mark Hartsuch. However, AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s legal representative has clarified that the two events are completely unrelated. Their lawyer, Vandana Shah, stated, “There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr. Rahman made this decision independently.”

Speaking about financial aspects, Shah mentioned, “It has not reached the stage of discussing finances yet. Both of them are genuine individuals, and their decision to part ways was not taken lightly. This was a genuine marriage, not a sham.”

Earlier this week, AR Rahman confirmed his separation from Saira Banu through an emotional social media post. Around the same time, Mohini Dey announced her decision to part ways with her husband.

Mohini Dey, a 29-year-old bassist from Kolkata, has worked with AR Rahman in over 40 performances and is associated with Gaan Bangla’s Wind of Change. Announcing her separation, she wrote on social media, “We appreciate your support in every way you’ve shown it. Please respect our decision and privacy during this time. We would also appreciate avoiding any judgments.”

While these announcements coincided, Rahman’s team has firmly denied any connection between the two incidents.
