In 2011, she made her acting debut in a Bollywood film. Despite the fact that she only had a little role in the film, her performance was highly praised and won her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. The actress  struggled with her weight from the start of her career. Her overweight figure was well-known.The actress had no interest in making a profession out of acting, but following the recession of 2009, she took a job as a marketing and public relations consultant with a production company. Later, she realised she could act and decided to pursue a career in Bollywood as an actor.She was even linked to a cricketer whose participation on a celebrity talk show sparked a huge backlash. Her most recent films have all been disappointments. One film that was released directly on OTT received a lot of positive feedback.
