After the Ajay Devgn-starrer soaked the tears of the audience, they were surely looking forward to Varun Dhawan and ‘Stree’ director Amar Kaushik teaming up because that was a combination that could’ve guaranteed a sure shot success back in the pre-Covid era. What has changed?
Bollywood filmmakers delivering duds one after the other is not the only issue that has changed things; the at-par excellence of many South Indian films such as Pushpa, Vikram, RRR, and Kantara has also changed things for B-town.
Bhediya’s box office day one collection will almost certainly be less than what was predicted after watching the teaser and trailer. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam 2’ storm has also been a major factor working against the Varun Dhawan starrer raking in big bucks.

According to early estimates, the Varun Dhawan-starrer earned between 7-9 crore at the box office on Day 1.
Previously, trade pundits predicted that the film would gross around 11-13 core on day one, but Drishyam 2 changed the game, making audiences extremely hesitant to return to theatres for an uncertain project. This may increase over the weekend depending on public word of mouth, which may be better in plexes as single screens will still favour Drishyam 2.
