Gitindranath Tagore, a name synonymous with aristocracy and cultural heritage, was a prominent figure in the Tagore family. Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Gitindranath was the son of Kanakendranath Tagore and Suramasundari Devi. He was a distinguished deputy general manager at Elgin Mills, a prestigious position within the British India Corporation.

- Sharmila Tagore, their eldest, who rose to fame as a renowned actress. She married Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and the titular Nawab of Pataudi. Sharmila and Mansoor had three children: Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, and Saba Ali Khan.

 

- Oindrila Tagore, fondly known as Tinku Tagore, made her mark as the first member of the Tagore family to venture into acting. She portrayed the character 'Mini' in Tapan Sinha's movie *Kabuliwala* (1957) before transitioning to become an accomplished international bridge player. Oindrila was married to Dilip Kundu, and they had a son, Mickey Kundu.

- Romila Tagore, known as Chinky Tagore, entered the business world by marrying Nikhil Sen, who served as the Chief Operating Officer of Britannia Industries and later founded Unibic Foods. Nikhil Sen was the brother of the famous supermodel of the 80s, Nandini Sen. Romila and Nikhil had a fulfilling life together until Nikhil's passing in November 2019.
