Sangeetha Sornalingam, who is known as the wife of Tamil superstar Vijay, was born into a Sri Lankan Tamil family and brought up in London. From a well-off background, she had a very comfortable upbringing in the Tamil film industry. It is said that her father is a businessman and that her early years were that in education and experience in many cultures.
Marriage & Love Story
Sangeeta’s life transformed when she became a great fan of Vijay’s. She was taken by his stage presence and so in love that she traveled from London to Chennai to meet him in person. At their first meeting, which was a strong point in time for Vijay also, mutual respect grew, which in turn turned to affection. In 19,99, they said “I do” on August 25 in Chennai. Although Sangeeta was brought up in a Hindu family, their wedding was traditional and they had the blessing of both families, which made it even more special.
Children
The couple are the parents of two, who they have put out into the world, who, at times, step into the media spotlight. Son Jason Sanjay was born in 2000 into that family and has shown an early interest in the film industry, which saw him appear in Vijay’s film Vettaikaaran. Also in 2005, they had a daughter, R. Divya Saasha, who made her debut in the film Theri. Although they live in the public eye, their kids have, for the most part a private brought up privately.
Life Away from the Spotlight
Unlike most celeb spouses, Sangeetha has gone into privacy. She doesn’t attend public events, which she doesn’t support on a large scale, or which are not related to family affairs. Her presence when she does appear is very graceful, supportive, and low-key. Over the years, we have had reports of her marriage, which did not really affect the couple’s union. She is Vijay’s rock, stepping into the background in terms of family duties, which allows him to put all his energy into his career.
