Praniti Sushilkumar Shinde was born on December 9, 1980. She belongs to the political party Indian National Congress (INC). Her father, Sushilkumar Shinde, was a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Union Home Minister, while her mother is Ujwala Shinde. Praniti earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She then went on to study at Government Law College, Mumbai, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2004. 

Her political career began in 2009 when she was elected as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Solapur City Central constituency, a seat she held until 2024. In 2024, she entered national politics, being elected to the Lok Sabha seat from Solapur. Praniti has been the Working President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee since 2021 and a member of the screening committee for the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee.
