IPS Rohit Rajbir Singh Biography
Rohit Rajbir Singh, a 2015-batch IPS officer hailing from the AGMUT cadre, has carved his path in the Delhi Police as a DCP. The son of the late encounter specialist Rajbir Singh, known for his formidable reputation in law enforcement, Rohit Rajbir Singh has inherited a legacy that propelled him into a career dedicated to impacting lives.
Inspired by his father's illustrious career, marked by significant contributions such as dismantling terrorists involved in the Red Fort attack (2000) and the Parliament attack (2001), Rohit Rajbir Singh shares the commitment to public service. For him, merely aspiring to become an officer isn't enough; the true essence lies in the actions taken after joining the services.
Coming from a diverse background where the maternal side is entrenched in the army, while the paternal side is steeped in police service, Rohit found himself drawn to uniforms from a young age. Despite the influence of both military and police environments, it was the impactful work of his father that steered him toward a career in the police force.
His journey towards this career choice faced a pivotal moment when his father passed away during Rohit's 12th grade. Left with immense responsibilities, he initially pursued engineering for its promise of a secure job. However, the yearning to fulfill his father's legacy persisted, leading him to revisit his dream after the family situation stabilized.
Opting for IPS, inspired by his father's commitment and the desire to bring about positive changes, Rohit embarked on a journey that wasn't without its challenges. Despite a setback in his first attempt at the UPSC examination, he persevered, eventually succeeding in his second attempt.
Rohit Rajbir Singh emphasizes the importance of having a clear post-UPSC plan. He discourages the notion that life will seamlessly proceed on autopilot after clearing the exam. According to him, being directionless diminishes the impact one can make. His philosophy centers on focusing on small, meaningful actions that address individual problems, subsequently cascading into positive changes for the neighborhood, society, and beyond.
By tackling problems at a grassroots level, Rohit Rajbir Singh believes that meaningful change can be achieved, and officers can stand out by understanding the core reasons that led them to join the service in the first place.
