Know About Sanath Jayasuriya’s Wife
At some point in time, so many people considered Sanath Jayasuriya one of the best cricketers around. He was an erstwhile cricketer and former captain of Sri Lanka. As an orthodox left arm spinner and top order batsman, he was a part of the Sri Lankan cricket team from 1989-2011 and finally retired in 2011. An ICC Cricketer of the Year back in 1996, he furthered the cause for Sri Lanka by winning their maiden World Cup title.

At present he is in the Sri Lanka Parliament and had taken the burden of selecting players to Sri Lanka Cricket. Jayasuriya is well accredited as a legend in the game of Sri Lankan cricket due to his unstoppable method of attacking cricket. This game has consumed much time and energy from him and this's made him popular within and beyond the boundaries of Sri Lanka.
Who is Sanath Jayasuriya’s wife?
The explosive Sanath Jayasuriya has been banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a few years for corruption in the game of cricket. His personal life has also been tainted with controversies, especially concerning his attempt at marriage. Born in Matara, Jayasuriya married Air Lanka ground hostess Sumudu Karunanayake in 1998 but parted ways the next year.
Sandra de Silva, former flight attendant of Sri Lankan Airlines, was his spouse. They have three children too, Savindi Jayasuriya, Yalindi Jayasuriya, and Ranuka Jayasuriya. They divorced in the first quarter of 2012 since their marriage could not pass the time test too. After divorce, Sanath met another air hostess and movie actress Maleeka Sirisena whom he got married to in a Buddhist temple of Mount Lavinia.
Sanath Jayasuriya named Sri Lanka’s interim head coach:
One-day Specialist Sanath Jayasuriya who is the former Sri Lanka captain will be the interim coach when Sri Lanka plays a home one-day series against India and a three-Test away series in England ending mid-September.
Though he has never coached a big team in his past, he did work as the Sri Lanka men's chief selector and cricket consultant for Sri Lanka Cricket till recently.

The move came following the decision of Chris Silverwood as he quit his job at the end of June after T20 World Cup 2024. SLC CEO Ashley de Silva had earlier declared the board will also advertise the position, besides looking for suitable candidates through the board. He had further added that Sri Lanka may prefer a local coach to fill in the position.
