Synopsis:
Prakash Jha directed the lawbreaking drama Indian film Gangaajal. The film follows SP Amit Kumar, who is charged with taking over the Tezpur police station in Bihar, an area known for excessive corruption, incompetence, bribery, nepotism, bias, and crime. Tezpur's police force is extensively engaged in local crime activities, frequently helping the wrongdoers. The story is partially based on the Bhagalpur blindings episode of 1980 in Bihar, in which police deliberately blinded convicts.
Amit Kumar, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, is an upright and determined officer committed to restoring law and order in the lawless town. His challenges are manifold as he confronts the deeply entrenched corrupt practices within the police force and the nexus between the law enforcement officers and local politicians.
