Vidushi Singh UPSC Marksheet, Age, Biography, Family

Vidushi Singh, hailing from Ayodhya, epitomizes her name's meaning - 'wise woman.' The daughter of religious parents, she secured AIR 13 in the UPSC CSE 2022 at the age of 21, accomplishing this feat in her first attempt without any coaching.

Vidushi, born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, grew up in Ayodhya. Her father, an engineer at UPPCL, and her mother, a school teacher with a Ph.D., provided unwavering support throughout her journey. Having completed her early education in Faizabad, she achieved a remarkable 98.2 percentile in 12th grade from JB Academy. Subsequently, she pursued B.A. Honours (Economics) at the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.

In her pursuit of civil services, Vidushi found inspiration in CB Muthamma, the first woman career diplomat in India. Despite the limitations women faced during that period, Muthamma's determination to attain the post of Ambassador deeply resonated with Vidushi.

Undoubtedly, family support played a pivotal role in Vidushi's success. During the first COVID lockdown, she returned home to prepare for the exam, and her family ensured a conducive environment for her studies. Vidushi acknowledges that her only responsibility was to focus on her studies, a testament to the significance of familial encouragement.

Her preparation journey commenced in the third year of college, where she established a strong foundation by self-studying NCERTs and other basic books. Realizing she didn't need coaching, she opted for test series and mocks. For her optional subject, Economics, she sought guidance from a renowned teacher for four months.

Vidushi highlights the importance of staying positive throughout the UPSC journey, emphasizing the need to follow basics, avoid shortcuts, and maintain consistency. She advises aspirants to read NCERT books to strengthen their base, craft their own strategy and notes, and remain focused during the exam.

In her cordial yet thorough interview, Vidushi faced questions ranging from her Detailed Application Form (DAF) and hometown Ayodhya to her birthplace Jodhpur. The interview included inquiries about her optional subject, Economics, and situational questions to assess her analytical power rather than mere knowledge.

Vidushi Singh's success story underscores the impact of determination, family support, and a strategic, self-driven approach in the challenging landscape of the UPSC examination.
