Shootout People gathered outside the house of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Satpal Gosain, in January 2011 when Khali visited Gosain's house for dinner. One source said that people started taking selfies with Khali which angered him after which many rounds of bullets were fired by his bodyguards, injuring many people, and police inspector Surinder Mohan said that an aerial shot was fired by someone from the crowd which injured 2 people. Stones were pelted at Khali's car by the crowd later. Land Encroachment In January 2011, he bought a 16-acre piece of land in Gujjar Colony near Badripur, Poanta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh to construct a wrestling academy. A local person named Rakesh Kumar said that his 2.5 bigha land also fell in the land bought by Khali and filed a complaint against Khali in October 2011 for land grab. Admitted to ICU In 2016, he suffered head injuries during a promotional event of Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) in Haldwani, after 2 foreign wrestlers named Mike Knox and Brody Steel trashed him with chairs. After it, he was immediately taken to a local hospital where he had 7 stitches to his head. Autobiography Royalty Dispute The co-writer of Khali's autobiography, Vinit Kumar Bansal, accused Khali of selling his autobiography rights to a film producer without informing or giving Bansal a 30% royalty as per his contract and filed a case against him in March 2018. Khali rejected Bansal's claims and said that Bansal owed him money from his autobiography sales. [9] Complaint for election campaigning Khali campaigned for Anupam Hazra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Jadavpur constituency, before the 2019 General Elections. Trinamool Congress (TMC) complained against him in the Election Commission of India (ECI) and accused BJP of using Khali, a non-Indian citizen, to misguide Indian voters. In reply, Khali said that he was an old friend of Hazra and would campaign for him anywhere. Fight with a toll booth operator Khali was going from Jalandhar, Punjab to Karnal, Haryana on 11 July 2022 when he got into a fight with toll booth employees of the Ladhowal Toll Plaza in Phillaur. Allegedly, Khali slapped one of the operators when he asked for the ID card and also tried to forcibly remove the barricades. Khali claimed in an Instagram video that the toll booth operator asked him for a selfie in a rude manner, and he started abusing him when Khali denied it. Later, both parties filed a police complaint against each other. Attacked by fans The Great Khali and his family went to the Ice Cream market in the Nilokheri near Karnal on 27 September 2022 as he was in Karnal at his academy.
