Veditha Reddy, a 23-year-old Srikakulam native of Andhra Pradesh, hit the headlines after bagging the 71st position in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Her outstanding success is a result of her perseverance, hard work, and determination.

Early Life and Education

Veditha was born to Reddy Shanthi Kumari, who is the president of YSRCP Srikakulam, and Reddy Nagabhushan Rao, who is an IFS officer. She studied her primary and secondary level education in Dharmanagar and then went to Delhi Sanskriti Vidhyalaya for higher secondary education. Veditha earned a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from a college in Noida.

Career and UPSC Journey

Veditha's passion for social service and her willingness to contribute to the lives of people prompted her to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She opted for anthropology as an optional subject, even though she was an engineer. Her approach was to concentrate on her strengths and improve her weaknesses. Veditha's diligence yielded good results when she got the 71st rank in the examination.

IAS Posting and Current Role

Upon her appointment, Veditha was made the Deputy Commissioner (HQ) of the Revenue Department of the A&N Administration. Her present assignment entails handling different administrative and revenue affairs.
